Two Friends, One Dream, and an Unforgettable Journey Through Peru
Some friendships deserve to be celebrated through travel
Some journeys begin with a travel promotion. Others begin with a promise.
Lucy and Rocío Salcedo, two lifelong friends from Costa Rica, had spent years dreaming about visiting Peru together. Through countless conversations, shared photos, and future plans, they imagined standing before Machu Picchu, sailing across Lake Titicaca, and discovering the extraordinary diversity that makes Peru one of the world's most fascinating destinations.
When they finally decided it was time to make that dream a reality, they shared one important priority: they wanted to enjoy every moment without worrying about logistics, transportation, schedules, or unexpected challenges.
That's where our story began.
Lima and Paracas: where the adventure began
Their journey started in Lima, Peru's vibrant capital and the perfect introduction to the country.
After discovering the city's rich history, remarkable gastronomy, and charming neighborhoods, they headed south toward Paracas, where the scenery transforms dramatically.
Endless golden dunes became the backdrop for one of the most exciting experiences of their trip. Driving across the desert in dune buggies, laughing together, sharing moments of pure adrenaline, and watching the landscape stretch endlessly before them quickly became one of their favorite memories.
As the afternoon faded, the desert rewarded them with one of Peru's spectacular sunsets.
Lucy y Rocio shared with us a picture at the boat that took them to their tour in Paracas
The following morning, they boarded a boat to the Ballestas Islands, home to sea lions, Humboldt penguins, and thousands of seabirds.
It was their first close encounter with Peru's extraordinary wildlife and one more reminder of how diverse this country truly is.
Cusco: where history comes alive
After returning to Lima, they boarded a flight to Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire. As with every journey we organize, we carefully planned their arrival to allow proper acclimatization before beginning their adventures in the Andes.
Walking through cobblestone streets, colonial squares, and centuries-old churches, they quickly discovered why Cusco captivates travelers from around the world.
Every corner tells a story. Every stone preserves centuries of history.
The Sacred Valley: culture, tradition, and breathtaking scenery
Their adventure continued through the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
The archaeological sites of Pisac and Ollantaytambo, colorful artisan markets, and picturesque Andean villages revealed a side of Peru where traditions remain alive and history blends naturally with everyday life.
Surrounded by majestic mountains, every stop became an invitation to slow down and appreciate the beauty of the Andes.
Machu Picchu: a lifelong dream fulfilled
A wonderful picture in front of our Wonder of the World.
Every journey to Peru has one defining moment.
For Lucy and Rocío, that moment arrived as they traveled by train to Aguas Calientes before making their way to Machu Picchu.
No matter how many photographs you've seen... Nothing compares to standing there in person.
Walking among the ancient terraces, learning the fascinating history of the Lost City of the Incas, and sharing that extraordinary moment with a lifelong friend transformed this visit into one of the most meaningful memories of their lives.
A challenge with a reward
Peru is also a destination for adventure.
Before sunrise, they set off toward Rainbow Mountain, one of the country's most spectacular natural wonders. The hike required determination, but reaching the summit rewarded them with an unforgettable landscape painted in extraordinary natural colors.
Like many of life's greatest achievements, the experience became even more meaningful because they accomplished it together.
The road to Lake Titicaca
Leaving Cusco behind, they traveled toward Puno through the dramatic landscapes of the Peruvian highlands.
Along the way, they visited the impressive Chullpas of Sillustani, ancient pre-Inca funerary towers overlooking the peaceful Umayo Lagoon. It is one of those hidden gems that surprises even seasoned travelers.
Lake Titicaca: where traditions remain alive
Their journey continued across the legendary waters of Lake Titicaca.
On the floating Uros Islands, they discovered a unique way of life unlike anywhere else in the world. Later, on Taquile Island, they shared meaningful moments with local families, learned about centuries-old weaving traditions, and experienced the warm hospitality that defines Peru's Andean communities.
It became one of the most authentic cultural experiences of their journey.
More than a vacation: complete peace of mind
Throughout their entire adventure, one thing never changed.
Our presence.
Every hotel, transfer, guide, activity, and connection was carefully coordinated by our team.
From the moment they arrived in Peru until their final evening in Lima before returning home to San José, Lucy and Rocío always knew that someone was there to support them. Traveling far from home should never mean traveling alone.
